Iranian actor Kourosh Soleimani urges people to read novels during coronavirus self-quarantine.

Iranian cinema, television and theater actor Kourosh Soleimani has urged people to read novels during coronavirus self-quarantine.

Soleimani, who is also a theater director, encouraged people to self-isolate amid the COVID-19 pandemic and to read novels by Iranians as well as writers from neighboring countries while staying home.

He recommended books by Iranian writers Ahmad Mahmoud, Mahmoud Dowlatabadi, Ali Ashraf Darvishian to beat boredom.

Soleimani also suggested reading books for Iraqi novelist Bachtyar Ali and Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk.

The flu-like deadly virus originated in China in late 2019 and later spread to tens of countries.

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the virus a global pandemic.
